
Stanley Krystek, PhD
Stanley Krystek is Executive Scientific Director in Lead Discovery at Aktis Oncology. Stanley is responsible for computational design of mini-proteins and in silico approaches to protein design and engineering. Prior to joining Aktis in 2023, Dr. Krystek spent 34 years at Bristol Myers Squibb, most recently as Scientific Director, Molecular Structure and Design where he led a team that was focused on design and engineering of protein therapeutics. During his career his efforts focused on the development and application of computational methods for protein modeling and drug discovery. Dr. Krystek has more than 100 scientific disclosures and he is co-inventor on more than 25 patents. He is a recognized expert in protein engineering and design, and he played a key role in BMS drug discovery programs leading to two marketed protein therapeutics and numerous clinical candidates. Dr. Krystek has been awarded several leadership awards during his career at BMS was recognized as an Outstanding Mentor by the New Jersey Association of Biomedical Research. He is an advocate for STEM outreach and has participated in STEM outreach programs doing his career at BMS. Dr. Krystek also served on the Scientific Advisory Board for Rider University. When Stanley is not in at his computer, he enjoys equestrian sports with his wife, camping, hiking, and spending time with his family.
