Akos Czibere, MD, PhD
Akos Czibere is Chief Medical Officer at Aktis Oncology, where he oversees all clinical development activities. Akos has been involved in drug development for close to 2 decades spanning academia and industry. He oversaw several functional areas, filed a number of INDs and successfully led multiple global registration programs in solid tumors and hematological malignancies with approvals in US, EU, Japan, China and other regions. Most recently, Akos served as Vice President Therapeutic Area Head for Pfizer’s Hematology-Oncology Portfolio responsible for strategy and execution across multiple programs. Through his leadership Akos drove approval and label expansion across therapeutic modalities including antibody-drug-conjugates, bi-specific antibodies and small molecules. Akos was integral in growing and expanding the pipeline through partnerships and acquisitions. Through his role Akos also served on the scientific advisory board for early-stage companies. Prior to joining Pfizer, Akos held leadership roles of increasing seniority at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals. Akos earned his MD and PhD from the University of Duesseldorf, Germany where he also trained as a Hematologist-Oncologist. Following his time in Duesseldorf, Akos conducted a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. In his free time, Akos enjoys spending time with his family on and off the bike.
